Legislatures argue that TWO other states have no personal belief exceptions; therefore they are justified in passing SB 277. Well guess what? South Carolina flies the confederate flag over its Capitol building. Just because other states do things differently does not mean it is a GOOD idea.
But going back to the Privileges & Immunities clause, this is just one area of the law protected by our United States Constitution that the California State Legislature has decided to toss into the garbage. Any legislature who would toss out our constitutionally protected rights in the name of political expediency does not DESERVE the PRIVILEGE of SERVING as an elected official. There are plenty of honest Americans out there who would do a better job. In fact, I would go so far as to assert that unpaid volunteers could do a better job of running the California Government than some of these representatives. At least in that case you know there is no financial conflict of interest! - Caitlyn Gilley Obolsky Rally Speech June 25, 2020 |

REFERENDUM
sb277referendum.com JULY 1, 2020 Referendums are legal mechanisms for voters to repeal or accept a law passed by the state legislature. If enough signatures are collected, SB 277 will be voted on by the PEOPLE not the representatives. If the effort is successful and the voters of California support it, SB 277 is eliminated. Tim Donnelly files referendum to overturn California vaccine bill #SB277 Official Press Release - SB277 Referendum Filed by Former Assemblyman Tim Donnelly Sacramento, CA July 1st, 2015 Today, former Assemblyman Tim Donnelly filed a Referendum on SB277, the bill forcing vaccinations on every child who wishes to attend public or private school in California. Former Assemblyman Donnelly stated, “This referendum is not about vaccinations; it is about defending the fundamental freedom of a parent to make an informed choice for their children without being unduly penalized by a government that believes it knows best.” California enjoys one of the highest vaccination rates in the country, and until recently, respected the right of individuals for personal or religious reasons to opt out of some or all vaccinations. SB277 deprives all Californians of that choice if they wish to send their children to a private or public school. For the vast majority, this is not an issue, but for those who are concerned about the inherent risks, or who themselves or their children have suffered severe reactions, up to and including death, having the freedom to opt out is everything. Now, that freedom is subject to the arbitrary control and subjective determination of a doctor and the government, instead of the parent. By referencing SB277, we intend to collect the signatures necessary to place it on the 2016 ballot and allow all Californians to decide. I wanted to lay out the basic Roadmap to Referendum (SB277): Phase 1: 1) SB277 Signed June 30th, 2015 2) Filed Referendum with AG Wednesday, July 1st 3) July 1st-July 15th: Raise $$$, Organize & Train Signature-Gatherers 4) July 15-20th: Print & distribute petitions statewide thru existing groups 5) July 20th-Sept 28th: Collect 365,880 valid signatures by September 28th, 2015 (If we have 8700 volunteers willing to gather signatures, that's only 50 signatures each (435K is target to be sure we have enough valid signatures) Right now, we have 7k people who've liked this page & indicated some willingness to be involved). Phase 2: (If we successfully quality the referendum, it will be on the November 2016 ballot & SB277 will not go into effect until the issue is decided by voters) 1) Raise money, tap celebrities to do commercials & run a campaign 2) SB277 temporarily suspended until it's fate decided by the 2016 election Godspeed, Tim Donnelly Former CA State Assemblyman www.SB277Referendum.com Phone: 760-933-8460 Email: [email protected] Twitter: https://twitter.com/sb277referendum Facebook: http://facebook.com/sb277referendum |
POLITICIAN
RECALLS www.sb277recalls.com SB277 Recalls is a registered political committee based in Fresno County California. We are very excited to see people standing up and taking back our state! We are doing everything humanly possible to hold these politicians accountable and a recall is our last hope at this point. There are several current and ongoing efforts to get recalls started. You can read about the status of those on our status page. Basic Recall Information: Legislative Voting Fact Sheet All recalls must be initiated from a registered voter/constituent in the district. Here is a brief overview of the process: 1. A constituent decides they want to pursue a recall effort. 2. They must gather approximately 60 signatures for a "Notice of Intent to Recall". The signatures must be from registered and verifiable voters in the district. 3. A copy must be served on the lawmaker. 4. The original must be served on the state. 5. The entire document must be advertised in a newspaper in the district (this will cost a lot of money!). 6. The lawmaker has seven days to respond. 7. When the state gives the recall effort the green light, you must prepare a Recall Petition, which must then be approved by the state. 8. Once approved, you have about 160 days to gather the petition signatures. 9. If you are successful, a recall election will be held. 10. Once the election is held, it is then determined if the lawmaker has been recalled or not. There is NO proof that healthy unvaccinated children are spreading disease to any other child, immunosuppressed or not. Therefore there is no justification for barring education from unvaccinated children. CA law does not allow blocking a free and appropriate education except in cases where it can be proven that there is no other option. And even then, the remedy must be as narrow as possible, not a broad brush approach such as SB277.
